Florida Budget Squabble

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Approval of budget deficit-elimination plans won't mean work is over for Florida lawmakers.

The Senate passed it's budget revision bill 27-13 and the House approved it's version 73-40 Friday.

Conference committees now will hash out differences before final votes next week.

Two of the biggest are whether to cut spending for road building and other transportation projects and how much money to borrow from the state's tobacco settlement endowment.

The House wants to take $235 million from the transportation trust fund, but the Senate plan would leave it untouched.

The Senate would borrow $700 million from the tobacco endowment and the House only $400 million.
