Careful at the beach

(WFLX) - Though the beaches are clear today, watch out for the next several months for dangerous marine life.

Man-o-wars and other jelly fish have already started washing up on our beaches. Early this week, purple flags waved to warn swimmers. Even though today beaches were safe from the dangerous critters, lifeguards still warn you to hit the waves with caution.

"Be aware of what's around you. When your walking your dog, we had a lot of dog treatments too. Be aware of what's around you cause sometimes sand can get on the bubble and you can't quite see the bubble," said a Martin County lifeguard.

Lifeguards also say that in February and March the dangerous marine life will be out in full force.
