Salmonella outbreak: Peanut butter recall

Posted by Rachel Leigh email

SOLON, OH (WFLX) - An Ohio distributor recalls two brands of its peanut butter after an open container tested positive for salmonella.

The King Nut Company recalled the products after a national salmonella outbreak sickened more than 400 people. The peanut butter was distributed only through food service providers in multiple states including Florida; however, it was not sold directly to consumers.

The recall comes almost two years after ConAgra recalled its Peter Pan brand peanut butter which was eventually linked to at least 625 salmonella cases in 47 states.
