AP - Your big bulky TV set will become a thing of the past if retailers like Tweeter Home Entertainment Group have their way.Noah Herschman of Tweeter predicts that within five to ten years, all tube-type and rear projection televisions will be replaced by three-inch thick T-V's that hang on the wall. There was a time when plasma and L-C-D screens weren't so reliable, but Herschman says that has changed. He says not only are they very reliable, their pictures are spectacular. They also take up less space and weigh a lot less than conventional T-V sets. Price, though, is still an issue. Prices on these hang-on-the wall sets are coming down, but you may still need a bank loan to afford one.A 40-inch screen will cost you about six-thousand bucks. Copyright 2002 Associated Press.
