BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX): A family left homeless by fire has gotten some much-needed help from our viewers, but they are still without a place to stay.

DeCarlo Balam, her mother and her four children have been staying at a Boynton Beach hotel since last Monday when a fire destroyed their apartment. This is the second crisis for the Balam family in less than a week. Balam's mother, Margie, who lives with her, just underwent breast cancer surgery and is recovering from a double mastectomy.

One viewer dropped off bags of clothes for the children last week and another viewer paid for four additional night at their hotel, but the money ran out Monday.

If you would like to help the Balam family, an account has been set up in Decarlo Balam's name at Bank Atlantic. The account number is 1107278330. You can also call the family at 561-509-4179.

If you would like to help the other families affected by the fire or to donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, call the Palm Beach chapter at 561-833-7711 or www.redcross-pbc.org
