ATT strikes bad chord with customers

Posted by Rachel Leigh email

(WFLX) - AT&T has struck a bad chord with some of it's customers. That's because it sent them a mass text message - reminding them to watch the hit fox television reality talent show American Idol, and many didn't appreciate the unsolicited text.

It just so happens, the cell phone provider is the only way you can text your vote to the show, too.

One customer complained, "My phone will ring at 1 a.m. That's a breach. I'm paying them; I don't want to see it."

"Initially, that annoyed me, but we've just been so bombarded that I've kind of tuned it out."

Thousands of people have gone to the popular blog Twitter to comment. Many went as far as calling the text message "evil" and "unprofessional".
