RIVIERA BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Just two weeks ago Mayor Thomas Masters was pulled over for speeding. Now, Friday night he was handed three traffic citations.

A spokeswoman for the city of Riviera Beach says the Mayor pulled his car in front of his business in the city. However, he pulled onto a sidewalk. An officer approached Mayor Masters with the problem. He asked to see proof of insurance. The city spokeswoman says the Mayor could not provide his insurance card. Also, the Mayor's licence plates were expired by 6 months, so his car was impounded.

Masters was handed three traffic citations.

Just two weeks ago he was pulled over for speeding, but not given a ticket.

As for this case, the city spokeswoma, Rose Anne Brown, says she believes it was all just an oversight on his part, "It was certainly not intentional. He had no intent on remaining parked there. He didn't plan to park there for any length of time and he is going about his business as Mayor."

Mayor Masters did not want to talk to us on camera. Brown says Masters will let this matter work it's way through court and come Monday morning will have his tags updated.
