PALM CITY, FL (WFLX) - Girl Scout cookies, who can resist? Many troops feared buyers would stay away from the delicious treats this year, but that doesn't seem to be the case in the first four days of selling.

It happens every year, Girl Scout Cookie sales. For Nicole Claus this is surprisingly a good year, "A lot of people have asked what the price is and when I say, "$3.50," they are like, "Oh, that's it?"

The 10th grader found her spot in Palm City. With sign in hand, she made deals, "So far the sales have been going pretty well. Actually, faster than usual for at least my troop."

She's sold nearly 200 boxes in two days. Her grandfather, Steven Claus, says, "It's our second night out and I hope to finish up tonight." He's thankful the tough economy hasn't stopped buyers sweet tooth, yet, "I know that's a big concern even for myself, but the reality is we all love Girl Scout Cookies and people sure are buying them and she sure is selling them."

Her troop and troops in Palm Beach County took early precautions, buying fewer cases then last year. No one wanted to get stuck between a Thin Mint and a Carmel deLite.

The Bennett's bought three boxes. For them this was something they always do, this year is no different. Lisa Bennett says, "We are always going to buy a few boxes. Also, we are trying to watch what we eat so we bought less boxes because of calories. Not because of the cost."

Not all Girl Scouts are as lucky as Nicole. Her family's just glad people are supporting the "Girl Scout Way" one box at a time.

Sales run through February 10. Several Publix in Palm City, Stuart, West Palm Beach and Delray Beach will have Girl Scouts outside their stores almost everyday.
