WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - An all out search is underway after a purse snatching with a twist.

The cash inside that handbag was supposed to pay for a big trip for a bunch of majorettes who were preparing to compete in a national competition called "Twirl Mania" in Orlando.

The trip now in limbo because the money to pay for the trip is gone.

Still, police are hoping you can help by looking at a piece of surveillance video. Police say they believe a man wearing a red t-shirt may have stolen $2,000 from a 5th grade baton twirling team.

The coach of the Wellington Majorettes had the money in her purse. That's when, police say, someone stole it from her at a Walgreens in Greenacres.

Twirlers from Wellington are just heart-broken over this whole thing. "I think, it's really mean, and he did really the wrong thing because its not nice to steal other people's things."

Police describe the suspected purse-snatcher as a white male wearing a red shirt and dark shorts and is about 20 years old.

Call Greenacres Police if you see anything in this surveillance video you recognize.
