Scaly surprise found in Boca swimming pool

BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX) - Kids in Boca Raton, looking to take a dip in their swimming pool, discovered a scaly surprise Monday. A lurking gator had beat them to the water.

The homeowner says it came from the canal on the side of her home. She called 911. Fish and Wildlife came out, trapped the gator, and let it go since it's under three feet.

"The man who came out and trapped it put white tape around the mouth then he let us touch it," described 10-year-old Nathan Burman.

Fish and Wildlife tells us it's very rare this time of the year to have gators popping up in pools and ponds. They usually see that summertime when it's hotter out.

As for the Burmans, their priority now is to get this hole filled, so they don't have anymore gator guests.
