Stuart firefighters busted for trafficking marijuana

STUART, FL (WFLX) - A second firefighter was arrested Tuesday night for growing marijuana.

Update, WED 9 AM: St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken J. Mascara announced the arrest of a St. Lucie County firefighter for growing marijuana.

The information that led to the arrest of Edward Joseph Nobles II in St. Lucie County came in part from a Martin County Sheriff's Office case that earlier today resulted in the arrest of another St. Lucie County firefighter, Sheriff Mascara said.

Nobles told authoriteis he was growing marijuana in his shed for the purpose of selling it to order to "make extra money".

Nobles was charged with two felonies: cultivation of marijuana and marijuana possession with intent to distribute. He was booked into the St. Lucie County jail just before 7 p.m. under $10,000 bond.

Update, TUE 12 PM: A local firefighter has been busted for trafficking marijuana after a grow house was snuffed out in Stuart on Tuesday.

Herman Michael Gonzalez, 36, a St. Lucie County Firefighter was arrested and charged with the Cultivation of Cannabis and Trafficking in Cannabis more than 25 pounds.

Undercover agents found the firefighter in the pot plant warehouse where they also found 80 mature marijuana plants.

Previously: A local firefighter has been busted for trafficking marijuana after a grow house was just snuffed out in Stuart. Fox 29 was the only local news team on the scene as police moved in on a $500,000 operation.
