Millions upset with new Facebook policy

Posted by Rachel Leigh email

(WFLX) - A new Facebook policy upsets millions of users, and it looks like Facebook is now changing its tune.

The social networking site quietly rolled out a new licensing agreement that claims it can use anything you post to your page -- even after you terminate your account. Many members call it a violation of privacy.

Facebook, originally, defended its actions saying the changes cover the site legally, but  overnight Tuesday, we found an update which you can read at the top of your profile.

"Over the past few days, we have received a lot of feedback about the new terms we posted two weeks ago. Because of this response, we have decided to return to our previous Terms of Use while we resolve the issues that people have raised. For more information, visit the Facebook Blog.

If you want to share your thoughts on what should be in the new terms, check out our group Facebook Bill of Rights and Responsibilities."

The site also says it will work to clarify those terms of use; however, no word on when that will happen.
