Family Fund for Girls Killed in Turnpike Crash

Two little girls, just 4 and 2 years old were killed when their family's car lost control and flipped into a canal along the Turnpike Sunday afternoon.

The 29-year old driver of the family's car over-corrected and lost control of the Chevy Malibu they were travelling in. The car hit the median concrete wall, went through the treeline and ended up submerged in a canal.

Witnesses who saw the accident jumped into the water and pulled the two adults and 4-year old child from the water. The 2-year old girl was not initially seen by rescue workers, she was later found by a dive team. The two adults were taken by helicopter to St. Mary's and are in critical, but stable condition. Both girls could not be resuscitated.

A fund has been set up to help the grieving family. To donate, go to any Wachovia Bank  and give the account  #1010225039476
