Cameras were rolling as two wildlife experts and a helpful driver came to the aid of an endangered Florida panther.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the animal was trapped on the wrong side of a highway fence on March 28 in the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge in Collier County.

FWC said a wildlife officer, biologist, and helpful motorist worked slowly to encourage the wild cat to safety, and eventually helped it return to the correct side of the fence.

If you see an injured or dead panther on Florida roads, please call FWC’s Wildlife Alert Hotline at 1-888-404-FWCC, or text or email tip@MyFWC.com.
