Rachel Leigh

Rachel Leigh joined the Fox 29 News team as the Digital content director and entertainment reporter in June 2007. She made the big move to West Palm Beach only two weeks after graduating from the University of Evansville which is located in her hometown, Evansville, Indiana.

Over the years, Rachel has interviewed The Doobie Brothers, The Band Perry, Flo Rida, Ed Sherran, and many more well-known actors, singers, and performers. She also hosts Peggy's Picks, which helps shelter dogs and cats be placed in their forever homes, and Fun Stuff, which is all about finding fun stuff for families to do around South Florida.

Rachel Leigh is also the host of The Southern Weekend for her parent company, Raycom Media, and all her sister stations across the country. Rachel has the amazing job of traveling around the South, meeting fascinating people, eating amazing food, and visiting incredible places.

Rachel first started at Raycom Media's sister station in Evansville, WFIE, at age 19 as a Web producer and production assistant where she learned the ropes of television news.

Rachel is also a gym rat, and teaches 10 group fitness classes per week. Therefore, Rachel has two looks: done up for TV and sweaty mess. She has completed several half marathons, triathlons, and a full marathon (one is enough!).

When she does have some downtime, her favorite thing to do is hangout at the beach or the pool with her husband, Jeff, and their three dogs, Toby, Willie, and Dierks. Her cat, Bella, is not a fan of the water.
