Drunk man accused of killing fellow wedding guest

A Boynton Beach man faces charges of driving over and killing a mother of three at a wedding party.

Lewis Weilenman, 46, made his first court appearance Friday on charges of second degree murder, and attempted second degree murder.

Weilenman and the victim, 42-year old Deanna Gambino, were both guests at the wedding party, at a home west of Lake Worth.  Witnesses say Gambino was actually trying to get people to stop arguing as the party was winding down.

But moments later, tragedy struck.  Investigators with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office say Weilenman--  angry and intoxicated--  threatened to kill someone, then got in his car, and twice backed up and drove forward.

The arrest report says the first time, Weilenman hit the bride's mother.  She survived.

The second time, say deputies, Weilenman drove over Gambino.  She died on the way to the hospital.
"She was my glue," said Eric Fuchs, Gambino's common law husband of 11 years.  "She kept me sane.  She kept me normal."

Fuchs and Gambino had a daughter, who's now seven.  Gambino had two other children.
Fuchs said he's pleased with Weilenman's arrest.  "I just didn't want him being out," said Fuchs.  "Now that he is in jail I feel a lot better."

Judge Ted Booras ordered Weilenman held with no bail.
