Amtrak Crashes Into Car Killing One Person

One person was killed and two others injured after an accident involving an Amtrak train hitting a car Thursday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened along the Beeline highway west of Indiantown.

A Honda CRV turned off of 710 onto Amaryllis which is a dirt road, heading east.

A train crossing sign is posted. The sign contains just a white train tracks, but no preventative arms.

The train almost made it across the tracks, before hitting the very back of the car.

The driver of the car and the front-seat passenger did not suffer any life-threatening and were transported to Martin Memorial South.

The woman sitting in the back seat of the car, 70-year-old Khunly Khun was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died.

She is from Lowell, Massachusets.
