WEST PALM BEACH, FL (THE WINE DIVE) - The Wine Dive will be hosting the 37 Cooks Challenge Friday. Guest judges include West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, Rachel Leigh, WFLX Fox 29, Bradley David, Executive Chef at Motor Yacht Top Five, Bill Foley, Cheney Brothers Inc., and Bridgette Weis, Southern Wine & Spirits.
37 Cooks was created when Sandra and Willie Simmons of Atlanta, Georgia received two gallons of Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning as a gift. Unsure of what they would ever do with so much seasoning, they had the idea to challenge their friends to create a dish using the seasoning. The challenge was quickly accepted, and many fantastic dishes with Slap Ya Mama Cajun Seasoning were the result.
Thus, 37 Cooks was born. Today, there are 37 Cooks around the United States and Canada who participate in challenges and then share their great recipes both on facebook and on their 37 Cooks blog.
The Wine Dive challenged the 37 Cooks to create a dish using wine (surprising – right?). After receiving the recipe submissions, The Wine Dive narrowed down the final three contestants and invited them to West Palm Beach, as our guest, to present their dishes in person on March 1.
The finalists are Allison Blank Donel from Columbus, Ohio, Gary Gee from Houston, Texas and Sandra Simmons from Atlanta, Georgia
The event will take place on March 1 at the Wine Dive, 319 Clematis Street, WPB, from 6:30-8:00 p.m
The dishes will be judged and a winner will be chosen. All three dishes will be available on The Wine Dive Dinner menu that evening.
