Computer Cop now available in Palm Beach County

Several Sheriff's departments all over the country have already approved "Computer Cop", a program that could keep your kids safe from online predators.  Today, it's coming to Palm Beach County.

There's about a billion people that use the internet every single day. Many can stalk children with sites like Myspace or Facebook. Now computer cop is trying fight back against online predators preying on children.

The program, once installed on your computer, can scan for image files that are inappropriate for children. It also has a dictionary that can search for suspect words or phrases

The program also allows parents to monitor file downloads or chats they're having to make sure he or she is not being preyed on. It's listed at $19.95 to download or $24.95 for the CD plus shipping.

Monday the Palm Beach County Sherrif's Office will announce plans to make the program available in the county.  No word yet on if it will be sold for retail, or offered as a free download to the public.
